Pada tahun 2001, Don Julian ditemukan tewas tenggalam, namun keluaraganya tetap menjaga kondisi pulau tersebut dan pulau tersebut kini dibuka untuk wisata. Pojhon-pohon di sana tetap digantungi boneka-boneka yang diperoleh dari para pengunjung.
Untuk emncapai pulau ini dibutuhkan waktu perjalanan hingga 2 jam dari Cuemanco Pier dan di snana tidak ada listrik, slauran air bersih, maupun sinyal utnuk telepon sleular karne alokasinya berada di pedalaman Xochimilko.
